Mission Statement / Statement of Faith
Biblists.com and its directors are non-denominational. All of the resources here are free to read in full or download. We do not solicit any money. Biblist books authored by Clayton Carlson can also be purchased in hard copy online at websites such as Amazon.
Our Biblist mission is to motivate and equip teachers and followers of Jesus to seek out truth in the inspired Word of God – studying like the Bereans did. Acts 17:11 (NIV) Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.
A biblist reads the Word of God and longs to understand it. 1 Corinthians 13:2 I may have the gift of prophecy; I may understand all the secret things of God and all knowledge; and I may have faith so great that I can move mountains. But even with all these things, if I do not have love, then I am nothing. Showing the love of Jesus to others also includes providing biblical answers to their questions of life.
The bar for becoming a christian and a disciple of Jesus Christ is set quite low. A person needs only to have faith in Jesus for salvation and to receive eternal life. Romans 10:9-10 New International Version (NIV)
9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
When teaching new Christians, it is helpful to offer more than ‘milk’. Hebrews 5:12 New International Version (NIV)
12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! For all Christians, it is good to know the Bible so we can resist Satan and his lies more effectively. Jesus knew the Word and used it to resist Satan. The three times that Jesus quoted ancient texts to resist Satan in the desert were from the Law of Moses.
The Reformation leaders were appalled at the lack of biblical understanding and tried to equip Christians with full access and understanding of the Word of God. Studying the Bible as the Bereans did is specially important for teachers and pastors. James 3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.
We only seek truth and request your comments and research. John 17:14-17, 14 I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. 15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. 17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
